COME CELEBRATE THE LEGACY...Waves of all-out mile races, a high energy atmosphere, and an efficient organization have made the Fleet Feet Mile a favorite for 12 years. The race features a certified super-fast double loop course near the football stadium at UOP. Great for spectators as runners can be seen on almost the entire course!
The Don Bowden Mile is the Pacific Association of USATF Road Mile Championship for all divisions: open (ages 20-39), masters (40-49), seniors (50-59), super seniors (60-69), veterans (70-79) and super veterans (80+).
Don Bowden
1st American Under 4-Minutes
The race honors Don Bowden, the first American to break 4 minutes for the mile. While running for the University of California, Don ran 3:58.7 at the University of the Pacific track on June 1, 1957. The Don Bowden mile starts and finishes close to the original location of the track, long since torn down. A plaque near the race finish commemorates Don’s spectacular race 51 years ago. Don will be on hand to sign autographs and be our master of ceremonies.
